I have spent many years as a print photo retoucher and photographer working with thousands of images only to find no matter how one enhances the exterior of our shell, it is never really the true self revealed. As I looked into the eyes of the subjects, my thoughts were, if only I could retouch the soul instead of the shell.

In the last decade, I have participated in many self help groups, spiritual growth seminars and workshops for learning, self discovery, soul journeying and eventually facilitating workshops. Visions, dreams and deep meditations unleashed an entirely new universe. In 1997, mystical impressions, messages, compelling shapes, symbols and feelings drove me to create these deep impressions artisically on canvas. The challenge for the retoucher began, to retouch and paint her personal soul journey with no camera, film or exterior guide. Music became an enhancer to my art as well. As I heard music and chants, it keyed deeply inward and enhanced the creative process while painting.

When researching the symbolism in my work, I was pleasantly surprised that I had connected with universal meanings, totally unknown to me. The unknown was hence revealed, through my art, from the soul. There is a deep satisfaction of knowing without knowing consciously and more so in retouching the soul.
